Power Diary Is An Amazing Comprehensive EMR

Power Diary solves multiple problems for me by offering an All-In-One type EMR platform that allows me to document, track my invoices, communicate with clients, manage my schedule, and pay attention to my reports.

Avantages

Power Diary offers LOTS for features: built-in CRM for email & SMS marketing, appointment reminders, and client correspondence; HIPAA compliant EMR for SOAP notes; customizable templates for SOAP notes and intake/consent forms; the flexibility to create your own SOAP notes and forms; automatic invoices generated when appointments are created; easy scheduling in-person & online through a client portal; capability of clients to pay in advance when they schedule online; Stripe integration with payment processing; reporting for KPIs to understand practice management; ability to create session packages; ability to create 1-on-1 sessions or group classes

Inconvénients

1-way sync with Google calendar - 2-way sync would be much better so that the calendars could fully communicate

The best medical software on the market + 10/10 customer support

Unbelievable! A life changer for our medical practice!

Avantages

Coming from the medical aesthetics industry, our options for medical software and calendar management was appalling and many dinosaur softwares out there. Power Diary is modern, efficient, simple to use and our company would be absolutely lost without it now. Everytime we have a question, someone chats to us without 2 minutes - this is RARE. Normally you just get a bot. Power Diary and the entire team who worked behind the scenes to set us up were amazing!

Inconvénients

SMS fee's add up by the time you send reminders to all patients.

I've learned a lot about your system. I still don't know how to add insurances.

Avantages

scheduling was good. I like how I'm able to access pt notes and billing directly from the calendar. Having Stripe made transactions very easy once the client's credit card information was entered.

Inconvénients

Not automated with sending email messages and intake forms

Great Product, Awful Support

Great product (usually)

Very poor, lazy support.

Avantages

Functionality - Power Diary has a wide range of useful features that integrate with Xero, and the patient record-keeping is fantastic.

Inconvénients

The customer service is atrocious.

Recently, the system was hijacked by someone sending Spam emails.

They piggybacked onto Power Diary's email system and sent Spam emails to my clients from my account.

Power Diary's customer service support team are too lazy to own their mistake, and refuse blatantly to contact the affected clients and notify them, even when requested, citing excuses such as, not blurring the lines regarding points of contact.

Please, your software was hijacked, you need to own it.

Secondly, there has been a persistent issue with clients being able to book online.

Power Diary support are very quick to blame Stripe and the end user, despite numerous reports and have simply stopped replying to my emails regarding the issue.

2yrs of PowerDiary and Continuing!

Although I found the learning curb steep at the beginning, I really love PowerDiary and have actually refused becoming an affiliate with various mental health services because I don't want to have to use their system instead of my PowerDiary one.

Avantages

I love the range of services PowerDiary offers and that I can do EVERYONE in one setting. PowerDiary allows me to schedule/book appointments, send automated communications, create assessment and templates, write my notes, track who's paid and who still owes me a payment, having video sessions, and so much more. Best of all, PowerDiary is always open for suggestions about ways they can improve the system and unlike lots of other services, they actually implement the changes then contact everyone informing them of the updates. I also love that if I have any questions about something on PowerDiary, I can chat with someone in realtime for help or schedule a meeting with someone who will guide me in a one-to-one session.

Inconvénients

I sometimes still get stuck when it comes to how to navigate third-party bulk payments, but a quick refresher always gets me to where I need to be.

Saves alot of administration time

I have found power diary to be really easy and useful to use. If I have ever had a problem, the support team always respond pretty quick. There is lots of features that I use that help run my practice for me. A great all-round system to use.

Inconvénients

It doesn't integrate with square for payments, it only does stripe. Would be really useful if it did Square
It doesnt sync with apple ical

Great system if your a single business owner wanting a comprehensive system

Generally a very good system, wish the telehealth plus was included in the price so i could share files with clients but I don't mind it. Once you get used to it, its a great system to have and is worth the investment in time and money- I couldn't have run my business for so long by myself without it.

Avantages

Integrates booking, payments, calendars, admin & video calls. Everything I need in one system, with additional functions if I expand. I have so much time back.
Payments are managed and trackable
Client bookings can be cancelled
Automation & templates saves a lot of time
Flexibility in how you set up system and tailor it to your business
One advantage this has over competitors for me is that I can set it up to take payments In advance on a monthly basis and link it to appointments. No more payment in arrears!

Inconvénients

The fact that migrating wasnt as integrative, spent a lot of time adding things manually.
Hard to sync three way diary, currently only one way.
Unable to use bulk send emails without a template, emails I send via this are unique everytime.

Best-of-breed

I have used half a dozen other practice management systems. This is the easiest and meets my needs best.

Avantages

The user interface is intuitive and usable. I can visualise my progress notes for previous consultations easily by scrolling down. Notes autosave as drafts, which is great. The calendar integrates with my phone, so I can see multiple calendars simultaneously. I can build customised templates with autofill fields easily. It integrates with sms, email, and Telehealth.

Inconvénients

The calendar integration sometimes takes time to synchronise changes to bookings. The letter/report templates don’t autosave and sometimes I have lost work. It can be tricky to attach documents to emails. The practitioner permissions don’t allow me to make changes to my roster.

It works! Need I say more?

We are still under using Power Diary, but it is easy to show others what to do to get started. In a short time they have told me what it can do. It's great.

Avantages

It saves me a lot of time, I can see at a glance if my clients will be attending, I can look back over their attendance easily when asked. I can schedule down time for myself and others on my team. It prevents double bookings. P.D. just streamlines my office work, and I save staff member time.

Inconvénients

My own lack of time to get the full benefit of the functionality P.D. is capable of.

Backbone of our business

As our business relies on good software to safely store our client data and to reliably access our daily schedules and information, Power Diary is the backbone to the efficient running of our business. We have found many helpful features that saves time and energy to collect data and to ensure accurate financial and client records are kept.

Avantages

Easy to navigate, easy to see where clinicians are and who they are seeing, supports the efficient running of our busy practice.

Inconvénients

Some of the data searches are limited. Would be great to have a few more NDIS specific features to add to invoicing and client records.

Poer Diary usage

Positive, I have it open when I need, and I don't have to log on to get into it as the memory works well.

Avantages

I can set appointments then forget that I need to remind them because the system reminds them

Inconvénients

A bit tricky (as a sole trader with a bit of a social life) to use it as a personal diary, to put in the different activities, with whom etc I just block out those times I need away and hope I remember what they were for

Power Diary has made my life so much simpler as a sole practioner. With its inbuilt features to make creation of forms and invoicing to its great scheduling and claims tracking systems this software is absolutely value for money.
PD also have a great range of helpful staff and webinars who assisted me on setting up my practice management from the start.

Inconvénients

No issues with this software. I can’t complain!

Works Great For My Small Business!!

We use Power Diary at my job and we love it!! It is so easy to use and there are so many amazing features that make our schedule run so smoothly. Our clients love it also which makes us look good. And the price is so affordable for our small businesses! I'm so glad they offer a free trial period that was easy to sign up for so that we could quickly see if it was the right choice for us!

Avantages

Color-coded Calendar, email and text reminders, easy to use templates for all types of communication and notes.

Inconvénients

I just wish they had an app. that is the only thing they are missing.

Good program

I use it to manage all of my clients and appointments.

Avantages

I love the interface and how easy it is to manage.

Inconvénients

The errors caused by some browsers? One of them, I can't remember which that affected my sessions all day until I found the answers via google.Having the option to share sound when sharing something. Having a chat when sharing to be able to send links or importants things for the client to keep.

Power Diary for small charity

Very positive - many of us feel a little nervous of new tech systems but we have found Power Diary easy to use and have plans to extend it's use within our organisation.

Avantages

Easy to manage appointments, love the reminders and flexibilty. Great system for all the team to use and will improve our record keeping.

Inconvénients

Would like it to synch both ways with our Google calendars

Great practice management software

Overall I have really found Power Diary helpful to manage my practice.

Avantages

I like the ease of use and all of the automated functions. I like knowing that everything is safely in one place and that functions such as invoice distribution and chasing are so easily managed

Inconvénients

I am not fond of the telehealth system, but that is fine as I use another system already.

I chose PD and have not regretted it; it is super functional and very easy to navigate and use

Still setting up; but I can see how much more streamlined I am and when I get really busy it is going to be a huge benefit.

Avantages

Using the calendar; all of the hyperlinks to other records; the invoicing.

Inconvénients

still trying to get set up with Medicare; but getting there.

I love how easy it is to use

As a private practice owner, there's a bagillion & one things to manage and PowerDiary simplifies my life.

Avantages

I love how easy PowerDiary is to use. I am not very tech savy but it is visually simple & appealing. I especially love that you can create/modify templates to use with clients.

Inconvénients

Everything has been pretty straightforward and if I did have questions or concerns, their support team was quick to email me back which I greatly appreciate.

A helpful software for a small scale physical therapy practice

Not too bad, with potential

Overall it isn't too bad, Notes are quite good. And staff are good.
However, it does remain a very restrictive platform with multiple irritating imperfections. They are keen to listen and let you know they are making changes, but the role out is extremely slow and slightly disappointing following the long wait. They have the potential to be very good if they implemented the changes they say they would do, but sometimes get they feel they are complacent with their product.

Avantages

Support is good in that staff to try their best to help quickly with the availability they have. Have some good features e.g notes. It can be a cheaper option if you avoid using SMS. (This is where they make up the difference.)

Inconvénients

They take a very long time to implement changes, yet they can implement changes fast if need to such as adding telehealth during COVID 19 in a week (if they didn't they would have lost business).

They discussed intake forms since I started a year ago (and has been a popular demand by many users) and still just talk of it happening, yet keep you hooked by saying coming in a few months. They make their money on SMS so be careful , never known SMS to be so expensive.
They recently did a user interface facelift with new features. It is still quite dated compared to competitors and you're restricted to what you can do. They could do with a graphics designer or ergonomic designer on their team.

Thanks John. The Online Forms have taken longer than initially anticipated, but I can assure you it has nothing to do with complacency - in fact quite the opposite. Our online forms are built on our Client Portal platform. During dev we identified there were some emerging limitations with the technology we had been using for the Client Portal. We decided that instead of building another feature on top of it, we should instead rebuild the Client Portal first using more flexibility technology, and then build the Online Forms using that. It's a 'get the foundations right first' type decision. Whilst not glamorous, this approach has ongoing, long-term benefits for all our users. The Client Portal has now been rebuilt and released, and the Online Forms function is in final stages of pre-Beta testing. Re SMS: these are middle-range for pricing. We use an enterprise-grade gateway that is very reliable. There are some cheaper, less reliable providers but we will never use them.

Does it all

Like how I wrote in the pros, I just love that Power diary does everything I need to run a business and there's scope for even more than what I need should my business grow and use more staff etc. I have often read about other practitioners frustrations about their (different) software program but I never have these same issues so power diary must have got all these things sorted. Plus the staff get back to you quick should you need help finding out how to do something. Talking of staff, they were amazing at helping me transfer all my old file details across when I first set up in Power Diary, otherwise it would have been a huge mission, especially putting all my stock into the system.

Avantages

I Love the ability to integrate all aspects of running a naturopathic business from the diary, email confirmations, text messages that remind the client, invoicing, connecting with xero accounting, allowing my accountant access to the stuff she needs but nothing else, total lockdown of clients session info once saved, or save in draft mode if additional info needed to be added after an email, all details in the one place including any correspondence I have with client, ability to send birthday messages and newsletters in bulk, stock inventory and can even take payments. Really, the list goes on...

Inconvénients

I think the only things I don't like is that you need to use quite a few clicks to get to different places rather than hover with mouse and get an instant dropdown box, but then even my bank is like that and I'm a bit fussy with easy tech stuff. Really, it's not an issue and has been getting better over the years.
