EmailOctopus is the best for people who are started to build an email list
I love using EmailOctopus. It fits my business and also my budget.
Avantages
I love that I can make templates and use them over and over. I also like that I can schedule my emails in advance.
Inconvénients
I do not that it is not a full calendar layout to see how my emails are scheduled.

Fantastic newsletters!!!
Very positive. I came over from GoDaddy whose newsletter is complicated and limited. They make you look really good. You should send them a thank you letter. I was with Mail Chimp before that and for some reason they started to want to charge me. I don't even have 200 emails yet it doesn't make sense to pay. I have been really impressed with y'all and am truly grateful for your service.
Avantages
I like that it's intuitive and easy to figure out how to use. I am also really impressed by being able to see who opened it, who clicked through and the times. I have told a few friends about this.
Inconvénients
I haven't been able to figure out how to move the landing page to my website yet and I don't like the button to sign up being purple. It doesn't go with my website colors.

Their website builder also doesn't allow you to copy from one source and paste into it. It is set up to be a picture book with no captions. It was a trial or error thing. I was so frustrated with GoDaddy when I was looking that I didn't have a lot of patience. There was one other I tried between GoDaddy and Octopus but I don't remember the name. I had researched a lot before going to GoDaddy. It started to get complicated and I have mild ptsd from dealing with GoDaddy so I quit and moved on. Not Impressed due to lack of deliverabilaty and one poor customer service rep
Yuck. I am bummed, but the customer service was lacking, regardless of a free account or not. As a small, volunteer-run nonprofit, we are frugal, and apparently not paying equates to a not good experience.
Avantages
The initial customer service was just fine, but when inquiring about bounce-back rate, the individual responding was simply "icky".
Inconvénients
We experienced an extremely high deliver-ability issue, when we had zero with the previous platform.
When inquiring about the drastic swing between the two platforms, I was met with extreme disrespect by the customer service agent, [sensitive content hidden], who proved that he is simply not a good person. While I had positive experiences with other reps, he proved to not be one of them.
Any organization would be curious about why there was such a large swing in numbers, in post-actively reading reviews, lack of deliver-ability was a constant.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback.
At the time we reviewed the bounce rates and we confirmed, via email, that these were hard bounces as a result of importing "Cleaned" contacts from your previous provider, Mailchimp. Cleaned contacts are contacts who have previously hard bounced or marked your emails as spam.
As a result, you had a high hard bounce rate (but otherwise strong open rates).
I appreciate poor results are frustrating and we are happy to help where we can. However in some instances we need to limit the support we can offer, particularly on our free plans, where our repeated recommendations and guidance aren't followed.

Simple and Efficient Email Marketing Tool
My overall experience with EmailOctopus has been positive. It offers great value for the price, and its simplicity makes it easy to navigate for beginners while still offering enough features for more customization and functionality. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cost-effective, no-fuss email marketing solution that allows for the creation of multiple newsletters and mailing lists and gets the job done efficiently.
Avantages
What I like most about EmailOctopus is its user-friendly interface and overall affordability, especially for smaller businesses or individuals just starting with email marketing (like me). The Free Plan gives room for building up to 2,500 subscribers and 10,000 emails per month before asking you to upgrade for a low monthly cost. I find this to be a very obscure feature amongst their competitors - and it is extremely fair, as it gives a ton of value and doesn't put the new user on a time clock to expand readership in order to benefit from that value. The platform also offers a robust set of features, including easy list management and automation tools, all while being more budget-friendly compared to many other email marketing services (the first paid tier starts at $9/month for 500 subscribers and the price is on a sliding scale that takes both subscriber count and email frequency into account). This demonstrates to me that I'll be able to adjust my account according to personalized need as I grow. The integration with other platforms makes it flexible and adaptable to various needs. I'm able to connect my lists to Payhip very easily.
Inconvénients
So far I haven't noticed much of a downside. I'm able to easily brand my mailings, create new newsletters and mailing lists, connect to various services for easy integrated use, and I seem to have a lot of control over design even on the free plan.

Great email marketing platform!
Our marketing team loves this tool! It has helped us to remain in contact with our audiences and segment our messaging to them much more than would have been possible for our team before.
Avantages
It's easy to use. Good user interface. Allows us to maintain email list and send branded email quickly at low cost. Works as a very basic CRM which is enough for our current needs. For a nonprofit with limited budget this tool fulfilled all the base necessities we needed without breaking the bank. Customer support is top notch and very responsive and helpful
Inconvénients
The template/email editing software can be a little nightmarish sometimes, there is no back button making editing cumbersome. It also lacks some of the more advanced reporting, analytics, and segmenting features in more expensive tools--but hey you get what you pay for!

Highly reccommend Email Octopus
Overall I have found EO to be great value, user friendly, and enjoyable to use.
Avantages
Once you get the hang of it, it's very easy to use and I haven't found anything with a better cost for what is offered - which is ultimately everything.
Inconvénients
It did take me a little while to get the hang of it - not because it's difficult but because it was so obvious I kind of missed it. But by my second newsletter I had it sorted.

Efficient, productive, simple email marketing
Very good. I recommend to any marketeer or small/medium business as a less bloated alternative.
Avantages
The product allows my business to send 50k+ emails a month, for a low monthly cost. I like the simplicity. Other senders are bloated and high cost. The product has similarities to my own business, british, simplicity, and well built.
Inconvénients
The only thing I would change is the ability to send to multiple lists at a time / with de-dupping. But no biggie.

A Great product
It can be used for range of things, not just mail-outs. We also now use it for our Membership records to reduce duplication and error and for Member Communication, not just News to a wider community.

Initially the user base for a free product, then the flexibility when paying for the next level.

Easy to use, affordable product
I switched from Mailchimp to Email Octopus last year and have been very happy with the change. It's more affordable and it has all the features that I need. It's easy to create campaigns and add new subscribers.

It's extremely affordable! It's also very user friendly. It's easy to make and send campaigns.

I had a little bit of trouble verifying my domain at first but was able to figure it out.

Glad I found EmailOctopus
I'm very happy and have already recommended the site to someone else having to leave Madmimi.
Avantages
Even though it has been a stiff learning curve from my previous ESP (Madmimi), I've been able to quickly set everything up. The support has been top notch!! Honestly, the learning curve isn't because of anything on EmailOctopus's side but me having learned an entirely different and older system. The help articles and the chat feature has been nothing less than amazing.
Another HUGE benefit and why I ultimately choose EmailOctopus was the price. For a small business owner in this economy, I needed to stay in a certain price range and EmailOctopus gives me everything I need (and what the more expensive sites offer) without the huge price tag. That's why I've already recommended the site!!
Inconvénients
I've had to work through in my mind how to create the correct 'tags' and then learn to 'segment' my list. Once that was accomplished, learning to set up an automation took a bit but again, the help articles were there to help.

Excellent solution for managing email campaigns!
Avantages
The free option to start out with EmailOctopus is a very good choice to start out with. It enables you to see the functionality and send a good amount of emails before committing to a paid plan (if you need one). We have used a couple different options for email marketing, and EmailOctopus was the best all-around that we tried.
Inconvénients
EmailOctupus seems to have fewer email templates than some of the other providers, however - the ones they have fit our needs perfectly.

Easy, professional service with great support.
Easy to use with great support pages to help me switch over initially and then to continue to make my email campaigns the best I can make them.
I'd recommend EmailOctopus to anyone who's unfamiliar with setting up email subscriptions. But it's great to anyone really, no matter the level of experience.
Avantages
The ease of making up an email to send out to my subscribers. EmailOctopus isn't the first service I've used over the years, but it's by far the easiest one to navagate.
Inconvénients
It can get pricey when you need to upgrade. But that's pretty much true across the board these days. And you do get what you pay for.

Sincere Feedback on Email Octopus
So far I’ve been using email octopus which was recommended by carrd.co and it has been great. I haven’t had any issues with my emails except most times automated emails on Apple mail goes to junk folder

Indeed, we recommend saving it somewhere on your device in case you need it in the future. Easy, helpful, and very reasonably priced!
I've tried email marketing platforms that were expensive and much more difficult to set up. EmailOctopus has everything you need, in a very clean user interface and very reasonable pricing.
Avantages
Email Octopus is SO EASY to use. I had campaigns up and running quickly, and I have very little prior email marketing experience.
Easy, but still powerful, with great reporting, and outstanding customer service (the product didn't need help, I did).
Inconvénients
I honestly can't think of any cons. Some may not like that there are fewer design templates than some email marketing systems provide. Personally, I consider that a plus, as there's less to wade through. Plus, it's quite simple to design your own.

I'm a fan of emailoctopus
Avantages
It has been easy to use and more user-friendly than MailChimp.
Inconvénients
I would like to have more design options for the newsletter. In particular, I'd like to see more fonts available and be able to embed, rather than link, videos.

Hi Mark, thanks for leaving us a review. Happy to hear you find EmailOctopus easy to use – this was definitely one of our main goals! Regarding your feedback on design options – we're actually revamping our editor as we speak, and you'll see some more options very shortly. That said, when it comes to the features you mentioned, our limitations are not arbitrary – they are dictated by the constraints of how emails are rendered in mailboxes. For instance, most web fonts only work in fewer than 50% of mailboxes, so even if we were to add them, they wouldn't render in the email you send to your subscribers. Similarly, with video content – most email clients don't support rendering videos directly in the mailbox, and they would open them in a new tab anyway. So to avoid display and deliverability issues, we follow best industry practices. However, we keep our eyes peeled for any updates, and if more email clients start supporting those options, we'll definitely look into adding them, too ;)

Easy, Efficient and Most Importantly - it works!
I think this is one of the best-kept secrets in email marketing.

Easy to work with, easy to add an opt-in form
Inconvénients
It has been very easy for me here. Could be because I have worked through kinks in other similar programs.

Great for events and mailing lists
Very easy to schedule and send emails, and a simple, user-friendly experience which I'd recommend to other organisations who use mailing lists.
Avantages
It's user friendly, and it's free. I found out about EmailOctopus when Mailchimp started charging extortionate fees for having 1500+ subscribers. Email Octopus was a great alternative.
Inconvénients
Some of the features are still a little basic, so I look forward to some new and improved design options in the future (fonts, shapes, etc)

Simple solution for creatives dipping their toes into the world of email newsletters
As an artist, I've been having a great time growing my first mailing list using EmailOctopus. It's simple and easy to use, so I can spend more time on what matters (creating art), and you don't have to spend money just to start out. I'm also very fond of the fact EmailOctopus respects the privacy of my followers. It really helps build trust with my audience.

It's free to start, easy, and respects the privacy of my followers.
Inconvénients
Sometimes, the UI for designing the newsletters is a bit clunky, especially when dragging and dropping blocks.

Good via console and API
They have been good to work with and their product is of very good quality. The end result of the emails produced is clearly the most important and these are very good. There has been one price increase during the few months that I have been with them.
Avantages
We use the Connect features to use our own sending infrastructure, whilst Email Octopus handles list management for us. The API is just about enough for what we need from it but has been very quick to integrate with our applications. The email design features are good, and the end result of mails to customers is great.
Inconvénients
Unlike some of the larger providers, there is no first party API SDKs available for PHP/Laravel. However, there is enough community engagement to make 3rd party ones which work well, and looking at the underlying API it would be straightforward to make your own.

Great, I've been with them for years
I've been with Email Octopus for years and I recommend it to other solopreneurs. It's easy to get started and I find that the product can grow with you. It's not overwhelming with too many options to begin, but as you get more advanced with email marketing, you can use more advanced techniques.

Extremely affordable and beginner-friendly email list
Inconvénients
Ability to change email behavior based on *which* link is clicked.
